It was a dark and stormy night on the corner of Thomas st. And Hawthorne ave. It was quiet, very quiet, as a matter of fact it was too quiet. A heavy rain fell on the roof of the Erickson household. Bette and Edward were fast asleep upstairs while Mitchell and Willis were playing Wii golf in the living room. "this is great" said Willis "but I think we're out of kirkland's best sports drank."
"let's make a Costco run and pick up a pizza at Punch!" replied Mitchell.
"sounds good to me, let's roll!"
Willis grabbed the car keys and as he went to the door Mitchell screamed
"WAIT! We need our Gats..."
"true that, true that" said Willis as he picked up his N-Strike and crept out of the house under the cover of darkness. Mitchell and Willis were in the middle of a heated game of assassin's and they had already lost two members of their team due to assassinations so they were both extremely paranoid.
They walked out side slowly and made sure to provide cover for one another. At the exact moment that Mitchell began to say "Okay, we're clea-"
Nerf darts came flying in from every direction! Both boys returned fire as well as they could and booked it toward Willis' van. Luckily the door was unlocked so both boys hopped into the back seat. "it must be the evil assassins monster!" said willis.
"we need to get out of here fast!" Willis foot into the drivers seat and tried to start the car but it wouldn't start. Then the boys heard a tapping on the window which suddenly stopped. I think we're good said Mitchell. And the all of the sudden....AGGH!!
THE END.

Writing challenge number two
Teacher tries to make writing interesting by calling it a "challenge"
Local high school teacher Tanya Hodge is infuriated with students after there neglect of blog assignments. "Blogs are a big part of our curriculum and my students are being immature and stupid by refusing to do them" Hodge says. However, She has come up with a solution that she thinks will solve that problem. She's calling it a "Writing Challenge" and she believes it will revolutionize the English teaching industry."Kid's can't say no to a challenge" Hodge says while writing her challenge topic on the board. "These kids need a kick in the pants, I ask them to do next to nothing for my class and they still refuse to do the work. They're seniors for god's sake!" Hodge is teaching a class called voices for the first time in her long and fruitful teaching career. She claims that she has never dealt with seniors that are as lazy the 2010-2011 voices class.
An un-named voices student was quoted saying "challenging or not, I'm not any more motivated to write, it's so much easier to procrastinate." the student currently holds a C- in the class. Willis Batz-Kamby, another voices student was quoted as saying "I'll do as many challenges/blog Ms. Hodge wants me to do as long as I can beat adoption." Batz-Kamby has made it his goal to win the independent project competition that goes along with the writing challenges. "I'm tired of the girls group talking *expletive* all the time, it's time to shit them up once and for all so if these challenges can help me beat that group I'll do a hundred of'em.".
Hodge claims that she can't make any promises as to who wins but Batz-Kamby believes that his challenges could push his team over the edge.

that was some adventure
That was some adventure…
Walt Disney World is a magical place. As a little kid I always dreamt of going to Disney world and meeting Mickey Mouse while I ate a giant swirly lollipop. I’d see the commercials on T.V and be incredibly jealous of the kids in their Mickey ear hats with their autograph books laughing and jumping for joy as the classic jingle played in the background. I remember the song word for word, Cinderella’s castle would appear and a woman would sing in a magical tune “It’s time to remember the magic.” I probably watched the commercial at least one hundred times between the ages of six and seven. Every time that I saw it I wanted to go to Disney World even more than before, however I never thought that I’d get my chance.
When I was thirteen I was lucky enough to go to Disney land with my cousin and my grandparents. In the summer we all road tripped from Colorado to California in my grandparent’s Buick Le saber. As we drove across Utah and Nevada the temperature rose to one hundred and four degrees, causing my cousin to momentarily pass out. My grandma freaked out and we had to pull over to buy him a milkshake so that he could cool down. It was very scary but he turned out all right and we made it to California and had a great time at the park. I got to experience a Disney theme park for the first time and all the magic that went along with it, however one park wasn’t enough, I needed more…in fact, I needed four. Disney land was like a gateway drug to the grand daddy of them all, Walt Disney World, however I’d have to wait five more years before I got my second hit of “Mickey.”
In the summer of two thousand and ten my stepfather turned sixty years old. One night at dinner, the family asked him how he wanted to celebrate and he coolly replied “I want to do the Disney thing.” At this moment my heart stopped and I knew that my dream had finally been realized. My mom and I began to plan everything from hotel to meals to discount souvenir shopping and I got more and more excited as the days leading up to our trip faded away until the day of our departure for Orlando finally arrived. I could barely hold my self together in the airport. Luckily I was exhausted so I could sleep at the hotel, but the next morning I awoke ready to take on the (Disney) World. We started at Epcot, then Magic Kingdom, followed by Hollywood Studios, and finally Animal Kingdom. So much went on inside the park gates within the four days we were there. I did so many things that I cant even put in words, but I can say this, That was some adventure.

The final blog
1. After a scare last weekend and a controversial ROUGH draft grade, we were motivated as a group to knock out the remaining filming and editing of our film. I can't stand the shit talking of other groups about how good their video is going to be so I personally couldn't care less what grade we get as long as we beat Leah and simon's groups. I think with all of the work that we've done will allow our film to be really good. We(Mitchell & I) have put alot of time and thought into this project so I hope that we can keep the audience interesting and entertaining, as well as getting the word out about the game that we love. Maybe it's our competitive, sporting nature but we're out for blood this time and hopefully our video will bring home some hardwear.
2.this weeks reading reminded me of the MLK and Hughes readings. Like those, it was charged by differences between the author and a white-male world. I sometimes get tired of hearing people whine about being minorities, but this is a great poem. the author uses angst, sarcasm, and a passive-aggressive style that is really beneficial to the point that she is trying to prove.

Blog swag. Can't remember the number but I think it's number nine.
1. Our documentary has been coming along quite well. We've had two good interviews so far and we've been getting alot of good b-roll for our video. We hope to be able to interview a Mn soccer legend because he would be a great addition to the two interviews that we already have. Our documentary is going to take alot of work in the next two weeks but Mitchell and I hope that we can over come the presence of Gabe and make a good film.
2. This weeks reading was cool but I didn't like it as much as the readings that we had done in the past couple of weeks. I liked what Dr. King and Langston Hughes had to say much better. I learned much more from those readings than I did from this week but it was short again so it was at least an easy read.

Blog #5
So we did the trailers...TIGHT! I was really happy with how ours turned out. Hopefully we will have a successful documentary, my one concern is that we might not be able to get our interviewee's to say what we want them to say in order to be relevant in our video.
This weeks Reading was okay, I like the fact that we haven't switched back to the documentary based readings and that we're looking at the readings in a more traditional English class style. My classmates would hate me for saying this but I think that future voices classes should a good book or two. I really miss Reading and I've fallen out of my old reading habit that i had after sophomore year, I'm worried that because I haven't been Reading this year that I won't be ready for college level english. I'm not saying that it should be a super complicated ap lit. type book but just a fun read that we could have group discussions about. I feel like the readings tease me back into wanting to read more, especially last weeks Kafka piece.

Blog #5
1. We're planning to get our first documentary footage this weekend! Were excited to get started on our project and we're hoping that it isn't a flop. Hopefully people will appreciate our topic and our film, if not it will have been a wasted couple of months.
2. I enjoyed the Langston Hughes poem this week. It brought back memories of Carol Horswills English class my sophomore year because we read the same poem. I've been a Langston Hughes fan since then, I like the subtle angst that he inserts in his poems that represent the struggle of a young black man. I had read the poem before so I didn't really learn much but I enjoyed revisiting it. Hughes had such a distinctive style of writing so it's a nice change of pace from documentary readings...BORING! This poem was actually interesting so it was cool.
