Effective?

We as a group really worked hard to find a topic that was original but also relevant, I think that the topic that we chose will be very effective. Our topic about the responsible use of technology in school is a very controversial topic right now between our students and staff so I believe that our psa will be very effective and also interesting.

Am I satisfied with my blog?

I feel like out group has made good headway on our piece but a couple of our group members are kind of butting heads on the direction of the project. I am content so far with my Parton the group, I am the actor in the piece so I haven't had much trouble with filming. I follow the direction of the group and I think that our video will be funny and entertaining as long as we can get it all done this weekend.

My group is behind but we're staying positive and are planning to start filming next week. We need to film and edit our psa stil which really sucks but it's whatever. Like I said we're trying to stay positive. Our idea is interesting and our video should be pretty fun, we've been talking a lot about our project but now we have to do the work. We have faced some challenges such as scheduling and transportation but luckily most of our filming takes place in school so everything is kosher.

The hardest part of my PSA so far

The hardest part is my psa so far has been the decision making and cooperation with my group. I didn't do well in my groups pitch and since then my say in things has been a little restricted, which is fine, but it's been more difficult to make decisions on the details of our psa. Our idea is really original and we've got some good ideas but john and alex told us specifically that they want ours to be great so there is a bit of pressure for me to redeem myself for my struggles in my pitch.

Our groups pitch went pretty well. We were very enthusiastic and entertaining but we could have included more detailed info about our shots and our topic, the mtn crew didn't seem to like our pitch as much ms. Hodge did but I think that we all got a little nervous, especially myself. The mtn crew thought that our pitch sounded more like a commercial than a psa so we were a little disheartened but we got 80 points anyway so it was cool. We've got a lot of work left to do on the psa and it'll take some work but we should end up with a pretty good video in the end. We just have to make sure that attention to detail matches our enthusiasm.

Blog #1

1. The PSA in our media is always present. The clever schemes which illustrate serious topics are on tellevision all the time. This type of media is the kind that we need more of. these psa's do not objectify women or promote drugs, infact they do exactly the opposite. Our group has decided to focus on the use of electronics in school and the benefits of electronic devises in education. We plan to use a ball and chain to symbolize the struggle with the non-electronic complications of schooling. Eventually the ball and chain will release do to the new electronic device that I begin to use for academics. I plan to play the protagonist in our groups psa, I represent the kid who finds academic accessibility through electronics. With all the planning that our group has done so far, we hope to have a successful psa by the end of this project.

I really like the E Trade commercials with the little babies discussing stocks and bonds. They're really clever and that makes them really effective.  I'm not an E Trade customer  but Advertising does play a part in the things that I buy, especially food.

MTN and the lessons i've learned

The last MTN session was great!  I've been learning alot about film making and video work, as well as making new friends and having fun during the MTN sessions.  The clip that I am planning to use is from Ferris Buellers day off, my favorite movie.   Media literacy is the idea that one can breakdown the media and take from it the ideas that it is attempting to get across while  also breaking down the setting, tone, etcetera.
