The documentary project has arrived and I am very excited to get started filming, interviewing and editing. We've got a good group and I feel like our group as a whole is clear on which direction that we want to take our documentary. I don't think that wewill face many problems in the direction of the piece as Rabiger suggests. We still have to decide on our documentary topic but we've got a couple of good ideas so it should be a fun project and we're all excited to learn more about making a documentary.
Rabiger's "directing the documentary" was a good prequel to our documentary process. It helped me to learn and realize that there are many different routes that one can take while making a documentary, and also if there are more people involved in the process it can create alot of hostility and conflict in the directorial process. Radiger seems tobknow what he talking about but I feel like some of the problems that we face a amateur directors and documentarions won't be as sever as those that rabiger faces. He does however paint a very detailed picture of the documentary process and I'm eager to start making my film with his writings in mind.
